ENERGY CHANGES: How do we use electrical
energy?
Every appliance in your house, from the stove to the TV,
takes in electrical energy. What forms of energy does
each one produce? Heat? Light? Sound? Others?

SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER ABOUT ENERGY:
- It comes in many forms.
- One form can be converted to another.
- In everyday conversions, energy cannot be created or destroyed.
Nuclear reactions, in which tiny amounts of matter are destroyed
and a lot of energy is released, are the only exception.
- Most forms of energy can be traced back to the sun.
What forms of energy can't be traced back to the sun?
- Radioactivity and other nuclear processes
- Moon tides
- Other heat inside the earth
