ENERGY FOR PEOPLE: Where do we get electrical energy?

Power plants produce electricity from natural resourcesChances are, the electricity to run your appliances comes to your house from a power plant. A power plant is a factory that converts other forms of energy into electrical energy. Like the car, most power plants burn a fuel to release chemical energy. The energy released goes through a series of other changes and eventually is converted into electrical energy.

But maybe the power plant runs on wind, or solar, or hydro (water) power instead,. Or it might run on nuclear fuel, one of the few forms of energy on earth that didn't come from the sun.
